KDKA Radio to air High School Football.

“We think this is as close as you’ll find to college GameDay coverage on the high school level,” Spacciapolli said. “And we have some ideas to make it bigger in the future.”

It certainly isn't "college GameDay" coverage...More like, they're taking a page from the small market and "full service" radio station playbook and seeing if they can't get a handful of advertisers to get excited about attracting a bigger audience than might listen to the usual talk programming on a Friday night. Just a few years ago a station like KDKA in a market like Pittsburgh would never even consider this. Then again, most smaller stations in that genral area that would typically air high school sporting events and games most likely don't do so anymore due to budget cuts, and many such smaller stations are most likely automated now.
