Keith Allison, 79, bassist for Paul Revere and the Raiders

He died of natural causes at his home in Sherman Oaks CA this past Wednesday. He was the bass player for Paul Revere and the Raiders in the late 1960s and early '70s, and also had a solo career prior to joining the band. He had been a regular on ABC's afternoon show Where The Action Is in the mid '60s. The "classic lineup" of the Raiders were also regulars on the show. RIP, Keith.

I am guessing this is the same Keith Allison that had the hit 98.6 around 1968 when Where The Action Is was at it's height. I recall him pretending to perform the song on the show. As a kid I had figured they played the record versus a live performance.

Different guy. The Keith (billed with one name, like Cher and Madonna) who had the hit with 98.6 was James Barry Keefer of Philadelphia. He's still with us.
