The MSNBC anchor will reportedly no longer appear on NBC's Sunday night NFL pregame show, in which he appeared alongside old ESPN colleague Dan Patrick in reviewing the day's football games.

The original article from Sports By Brooks points out that, in the wake of Limbaugh being dropped from the group with interest in purchasing the Rams, it was only a matter of time before the other shoe (i.e. Olbermann's appearances on an NFL-sanctioned program) dropped.

Keith Olbermann has to be the meanest most partisan host of any TV show. HANDS DOWN!!!

His nightly rantings on MSNBC has done nothing to endear him with the public.

It has begun to catch up with him and will impact other career opportunities.

Or how about this team? Rush Limbaugh on play-by-play, Keith Olbermann to provide color commentary, and Dennis Miller for forced comic relief. And since sideline reporters need to know nothing about football, perhaps Rosie O'Donnell on the sideline to balance out the political leanings of the team.

The only downsides I can see is that Limbaugh might call every play as going to the right, Olbermann's commentary could be a little too colorful for TV, Miller would lose everyone with his "too smart for the room" obscure references, and O'Donnell might be mistaken for Tony Siragusa. Oh, and nobody would pay attention to the game. But it might be entertaining.
