ONLY Don Davis resigned. The others were let go. Changes aren't done yet...Sorry - RESIGNED.
My bad.
I remember Don Davis from his WIOT days some 20+ years ago. That dude's gotta be up there in age.
Doing Adult R&B here is D/FW is a risky business. They dont have access to Steve Harvey in this market even though he works for them via Premiere. They gonna have to spend a whole bunch of money.Let's see, both Detroit and DFW have AC, CHR and Classic Rock stations under the iHM umbrella.
What iHM Detroit has that DFW lacks are highly successful Urban and Urban AC stations.

Do DFW Hispanic demographics fit for that?Could Dallas become the next stop for Rumba?
What iHeart has in one market does not in any way impact what they will do in another. Their leadership structure does not put format decisions in the hands of Market Presidents.Let's see, both Detroit and DFW have AC, CHR and Classic Rock stations under the iHM umbrella.

Anything iHeart does on 97.1 will still need to account for the Mavericks play-by-play. That is not moving elsewhere in the cluster let alone another signal.Could Dallas become the next stop for Rumba?
I wonder if they could move it to 92.5?"Anything iHeart does on 97.1 will still need to account for the Mavericks play-by-play. That is not moving elsewhere in the cluster let alone another signal."
Unless that contract is public, which it isn't, there's no way for you to know if it can be moved to another iHeart station. (Unless you were part of that negotiation.)
After 25 years of covering the radio industry and knowing a bit about the inner workings of iHeart, there is zero way they are putting the Mavericks on Kiss-FM, Now, or Star. I will maintain there is a slim chance it could go on KZPS, but it is also very late in the offseason to re-sell advertisers, update marketing, appease Mark Cuban, etc.."Anything iHeart does on 97.1 will still need to account for the Mavericks play-by-play. I wonder if there is a clause to move the games to another iHeart station because of conflicts/or station format changes. I just know that Mark Cuban wanted a be on a station that did not have any other teams airing sports play by play. What iHeart has in one market does not in any way impact what they will do in another.
