Kelly Nash from NOK PM Drive to COS Wakeups w JR

Here's a question. If JR were to sign on today for the VERY FIRST TIME in Columbia...would people listen?
Let's even pose that question to WCOS, WNOK, and B106. If they were to sign on today, would people tune them in? Too many folks and stations in this market are resting on their laurels and counting on their past to lead them into the future.

I would broaden that to ALL radio stations in every market: If they were to sign on today would people listen? Not unless they realize that are much more than just a "radio station." Traditional Radio has indeed been resting on its arrogant laurels for years and years. I will use a quote from Jim Farley VP of News and Programming of WTOP Washington DC from today's Taylor on Radio:

"Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Theologica defines passion as the sum of people’s hopes, fears, needs and desires. Got that? Hopes, fears, needs and desires. Meet those needs and you create content that people become PASSIONATE about.”

He also went on to say that WTOP is not a radio station but a content provider across many platforms and FM happens to be only one platform.
