KEN MATTHEWS RETURNS LIVE in studio, MONDAY FEB 4 on GARY in the MORNING

woooooosh.... that's the sounds of all the lehigh valley radio stations management teams butts puckering and sucking the air outta the rooms. lol go ken and gary.. take all thier ad revenue.. then maybe they'll get a clue.

that's funny...and quite an exaggeration

Now if -Matthews gets back on an FM or AM in this market, you might hear a few butts puckering

If Gary OR Ken could get back on air in THIS market they'd take out half the current cast of characters.

If they were smart, they'd buy WGPA....combine online and GPA's local signal.....their talent & name recognition? That would be something. drpickle could have his friend bobby kuch sell

by the way....any actual numbers been posted yet ? other than Ken & kitty 25-54 ?

i like the idea of wgpa.. like most lehigh valley things.. lotsa potential being wasted away for lack of vision... however.. i think the one thing your missing.. is gary's market is allready bigger than the lehigh valley... his potential market is anyone with an interenet hookup. that's the key.. and he's allready doing a better job promoting himself then the locals.. and probably far more cost effectively.. as i understand it.. alot of his advertisers were former clients of his former radio station.. so it was an easy sell i would imagine having a history.. and heck.. even ken gets more billboard attention than the local stations are willing to spend on. but maybe your right.. maybe thier not puckering because their even more clueless as to the damage it is doing than they realize. oh well. maybe instead of gpa they can just buy all of citadel when its stock goes to 0 and ends up in bancruptcy lol.

thanks for the ideas...I can leverage my blog $$$ .positive cash flow of 87 cents per month....

and then get investors.

in the meantime.....you'd need a stick (that's a GPA for you repti) until wi-fi is more mainstream to the car people.gotta be in cars for drivetime or where people can't get wi-fi yet..especially locally

of course we'd have to come up with the 3.4 trillion that MR. UNJOLLY thinks it's worth

MAYBE GARY AND I WILL DISCUSS IT MONDAY MORNING FEB 4TH AT 8AM

your forgetting the podcasting ability.. people can download it to thier ipods and play it in thier cars since cars are starting to come with ipod jacks. so radio will be completely obsolete if they stay on the current path.

Hey Ken... Howzit?

Just a bit of info here... there are already quite a few cell phones (not to mention iPhone, which I will anyway) that are MultiMedia capable and are able to receive audio/video streams already. When WiMAX finally makes its debut the potential will explode... and once again the radio visionaries will have their heads spinning like Bobble-Heads trying to figure out how another industry got one up on them… as they watch stock prices fall and investors running away from the stench of the rotting dinosaurs in the various station provided cubicles…

Anyway… gotta go now… the Drive-Thru is starting to back up again…

(Carry on...)

No doubt a stick would help in the short term for www.garyinthmorning.com . The saving grace is the availability of each day's show to be heard later...often much later. The archive ability allows anyone who desires to hear any particular show on their schedule.

They are also hearing the commercials.

As always, content is king. The content is driving traffic to Gary's site, and not simply during the time the show is live.

The abandonment of the local market by traditional radio has given Gary a window of opportunity big enough to drive 18 wheel sniz through. Local advertisers see the opportunity to get in on something that delivers.

Traditional radio is making itself irrelevant...with only itself to blame.

not to mention that the website is as much an asset as the company and employees themselves these days.. every link from another site adds value, every page created because of comments or additional content adds value and creates space for more advertising which in turn creates more value. its why when u think of it.. u can buy a web address for 9.99 these days and they will show u how to create one for free or use free templates on the web.. there is no excuse for someone in the advertising business not to have one of thier own. heck .. might get a few folks off the bus even lol. not to mention with the facebooks and myspace's of the world.. there is really no excuse.

since u guys seem to have so much free time on your hands.. check out my buddy's website.
