How long will this madness go on at GST?

How long will the search for a new morning show continue.

How many more people will be dropping by to try their hand and if anyone knows who they may be can you please tell us? The GST website is no help at all.

I'm as tired as anyone talking about GST but the no sense approach they're taking is beyond insane at this point.

Help?

Does it really matter? Until they make a move towards hiring someone, there really isn't anything to say.

But I have not heard of any talk station let a prime time slot this bad for this long.

Atleast on a music station they can play more music if the host sucks and they can't find a new one.

There has to be logical reason for all this but I can't figure it out.

It will keep going on until they realize the answer is right in their own back yard. Atlanta is the black hole of Clear Channel. The need to open their eyes and they will see the answer.

Re: How long will it go on?

Here's some possible reasons:

1. Timing. Talk radio generally doesn't do well in the summertime. Why hire your new talent and bring him in when even if you do a big splash, fewer people will be listening. Better to wait until the old "fall book" time to hire.

2. Publicity. As long as there are rotating hosts "auditioning" for the show, they'll get mention on this board and elsewhere. Keeps the call letters in the public eye.

3. Money. While it's not a great deal of $$$, you have to figure they're saving money by not having a full-time person on staff (no benies to pay, fill-ins are not getting as much as a full-time person would, etc.) The longer the slot is open, the more money is saved.
