KFNX 1100 host: Obama Not First Black President, ‘I Call Him A Monkey’

Yep, that brokered Colon Blow station that used to have the National Socialist Nazi show (because, how much harm can they do?) now has "Hair on Fire" with host Barbara Espinosa saying things like this. Oh, same station carries Russell Pearce, and the 6000 year earth Creationist show.

Post image for Conservative Radio Host: Obama Not First Black President, ‘I Call Him A Monkey’

An Arizona conservative radio host on-air said that she refuses to call Barack Obama the first Black President, but she proudly acknowledged she calls him “a monkey.” Barbara Espinosa adds that she can’t be called a racist.

The audio recording of this is at the link.

1100, managing to stoop to new lows.

And people wonder why KFNX doesn't show-up in the ratings. I wonder if anyone actually listens to KFNX, except when they're broadcasting UofA football or basketball.

Our beloved Lumberyard gets more listeners than KFNX, and they're not a 50,000 watt day-time station. What a waste of a monster signal!

From the station that would power up to 50KW illegal watts at night and play uncensored hardcore rap music complete with every expletive you can think of. Yeah, that station. The one I have recordings of that may be of interest to the FCC. Who runs that joint? What a waste of electricity.

Any time another KFNX example is brought to light and the ensuing hand-wringing and being shocked - shocked, I tell you - I cannot help but notice the rank hypocrisy that from a purely business perspective, KFNX is being blamed for making a profit. You and I may not like the content they are broadcasting, but if the only speech permissible in public were arbitrarily limited to only warm-and-fuzzy My Little Pony, there wouldn't be any need for a First Amendment. Political correctness is a crock of B.S., and I'm not going to lend legitimacy to PC dictating what an FCC licensee may or may not broadcast. From a moral standpoint (if that's the standard we're going by), just ask any parent if they want their toddler repeating the lyrics to "Sexy And I Know It", let alone what LMFAO means, or a Lady Gaga song like "Poker Face," get *their* perspective, too, and then once the CHR's/AC's all have been whitewashed, you can sanitize the AM's, too.

A lot of people in Arizona clearly aren't bothered by racism and prejudice (otherwise, how do you account for a certain law enforcement official being re-elected time after time?), and as long as they're buying what KFNX is selling, that's how business works. Supply and demand. I'm only the messenger.

Actually, over the last year, KFNX has had about 3 times the listening level of KAZG. Stations like KFNX do not usually subscribe to ratings, as they do not sell spots to agency clients.

A grown woman calling the President a monkey...I hope she feels better ;D..It's not shock radio...it's just plain stupid radio..Who cares?? ::)

Exactly. Tree falling in the forest, nobody there, and I should be outraged...why, exactly? Threads like this are essentially gift baskets of free publicity. Hit their sponsors like how Rush's & Beck's sponsors got hit, or *do* something besides "Oh, what an outrage!" KFNX-centric outrage is certainly melodramatic at this point, if not practical or effective. ::)

For those of us in Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island....none of this is unexpected, shocking, or new.

It's simply Francis Battaglia running a radio station the way he always has, since the 1990's, when he started running the now-defunct 990-WALE in the Providence market.

Some snakes never change the way they slither.

I wonder how disappointed poor old Frank Battaglia must be at how his son Francis turned out?

No one is saying they don't have the right to say it. At the same time, people have the right to criticize what they say.

Sadly, we've turned into the laughingstock of the nation. This just reinforces our "wonderful" image to many.

Looks like KFNX may be trying to fight back the Supreme Court's decision upholding Obamacare by not powering down to their prescribed night-time power of 1000 watts. Right now KFNX is booming in with more than their prescribed 1000 watts of night-time power as they are clear as a bell tonight around Phoenix. Usually there's some static and fade from KFNX, but tonight, they are as clear as any other AM station on the radio dial and KFNX is bleeding over well onto 1120 and 1130 AM down here in Gilbert.

Yikes, looks like KFNX is fighting the big bad government by going 50,000 watts 24/7!

No problema, Jorge....when the BBC suits get the July APS bill for running 50k 24/7, they'll be back to powering down at local sunset. Hair On Fire, indeed!

More like Bataglia family is on vacation and the chimpanzee they have running the station in their absense forgot to power down.
