Any interest in the KFRC "Mobile Sturgeon"? Have several tapes of that including the last day with the Sturgeon up in Vallejo at a car show; the following day KFRC became Magic 61..

Wow. Terriffic stuff, George... Thanks. It was fun seeing Bobby's reaction when Don replayed the old Gensler-Lee Diamond commercial with his humorously ad-libbed live read (lousy jewelry store, but great commercials). I suspect that the old live readings by the DJs helped advertisers sell more of their goods than pre-recorded ads- they were fun to listen to and you actually paid attention. I used to wonder if it pissed off the advertisers when the DJs veered away from the script.

I will definitely check out anything else you post on You Tube.

Excellent stuff! Thank you very much! I had no idea Beau Weaver ever had short hair. I'm also surprised that on that last day in 1986 they didn't pay him. Strange.

What more do you have?

Two great clips, George...and yes...would love to see video of the Sturgeon. Watched Jackson Armstrong do his show live from Fort Mason one weekend back in '82...a terrific jock, machine and station.

According to Ben Fong-Torres' book, the bit where Beau Weaver names everyone's real name is a scream...I'd love to see that.

Has there ever been a more joyful human behind a mic? Just watching his excitement at hitting the vocal - it's obvious how much he loved what he did. We'll never see (or hear) the likes of Dr. Don et al again - and that's a shame.
