KGBC to change city of license

Seems 1560am had somthing to say about this change and it also seems that KGBC wants to use KLVL's towers to broadcast at 180 watts at night?

Minor change in licensed facilities.
Engineering Amendment filed 03/07/2008

Informal Objection Filed 05/28/2008 by Gow Communications, L..L..C.

Can some one shine some light on this..

Can you shed some light on your thread, please? Title says KGBC moving community...that's community of license, not city...but that's another issue altogether, but you never stated where KGBC would be moving to. Only that KGOW had filed a Petition To Deny. Elaborate, please.

Okay, lemme slip in here with a few details. KGBC filed an application a while back to change their COL to Dayton, operating non-directional days from a tower just south of the Lake Houston dam. There have been three updates (engineering amendments) to the original application, with the current version specifying 5,000 watts day and 3,500 watts during critical hours.

For nighttime they elected to apply for 180 watts from one of the KLVL towers and using a similar pattern to 1480. From there the NIF (nighttime interference free) contour doesn't even come close to their proposed new COL, but as a Class D they don't have to provide night service to Dayton. I'd agree that for them it makes more sense to use the Pasadena site.

The objection filed by GOW was addressed and I'm thinking it may have been resolved, since a few things have changed since it was filed. The Game's current 100-watt nighttime pattern, as well as their recently revised high power night pattern application (downsized from 19,000 to 15,000 watts) seem to be sufficiently protected by the KGBC nighttime proposal. Interestingly, the KGBC application to move to Dayton lists Bob Morrow as the tech guy, the same engineer who worked long and hard to finally get 1560's 50,000-watt daytime signal approved.

They must not be powering down at night or already broadcasting from pasadena because i was tuned in last night and they were comming in crystal clear!

That's one of the most predjudiced statements I've heard on here in a long time. As the say about Latin America, "20 countries separated by a common language."

I'll probably get flamed for saying this - but I agree. By looking at race even reversely, is being prejudice.

Latino - Many PEOPLE have been successful in Houston radio.

It's called the tune button my friend, if you don't like it, you can switch it. So, how's the "Street promotion" job going at LBI? I'm pretty shure handing out those big ridiculus white "La Raza" Decals pays good! Any chance I can get one? I would shure like to go around town and sticking them on random cars. The expression of the people when they realize someone just stuck a "La Raza" decal is priceless (my friend is a teacher at a local Houston high School and one of the boogers stuck three of them on her windshield!)

So, I guess my question here is, Is Latino2008 being racist against other Latinos? This is a first.  What does being Puerto Rican have to do with being successful here in Houston? Raul Brindis' Wingman is Salvadorenean. Just because Houston is dominated by Hispanics of Mexican origin doesn't mean anyone else can't be successful.
