Happy to see that. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out compared to Hot.

I really wonder if this will hash out to be a “networked” format going out to other Entravision outlets (assuming any success). The website address makes me think that may be the case

Big question I have is are they paying royalties for using the term “Hot Hits”? Last time I checked (George HW Bush’s presidency), somebody owned that phrase and would probably appreciate their pound of flesh for its use...

That was Mike Joseph, who died last year at the age of 90.

I understand that the service mark still stands, and it was left to an administrator by Mike.
 
I'd like to imagine Entravision is smart enough/has capable lawyers to have figured this issue out. "Hot Hits" works pretty darned well for a bilingual station called Fuego.

Then again, we have seen with both "Z-Rock" and the "Buzz" recently that perfectly good radio stations, with perfectly reasonable people at the helm, have had their branding stymied by owners of service marks asking for proper payment. Zoinks...
