Kicks 105.5 & i95 To be Transferred From Cumulus to Townsquare Media?

Kicks 105.5 & i95 To be Transferred From Cumulus to Townsquare Media

It appears that as part of a complex deal involving Cumulus Media Townsquare Media and Dial Global, country station WDBY and rocker WRKI would both have a new owner. The same would be true for the two AM stations simulcasting a sports format-WINE and WPUT.
Should any major changes be expected for these Danbury area stations if Townsquare takes them over from Cumulus?

Would Danbury be considered too close to New York City and its ESPN affiliate (or Hartford and its) to put another one there?

As I mentioned WINE/WPUT used to be ESPN. The only reason they switched is because Cumulus switched a bunch of their Sports Stations to CBS Sports as they are partners with CBS for the network. WINE/WPUT Danbury was one switch. Another was WHLL 1450 in Springfield, Mass. Hartford isn't a factor in Danbury as you can not pick up WUCS 97.9 there. Down there on 97.9 you get LaMega from NYC. Hell even with the Portuguese Translator gone from 97.9 you still can't get WUCS in Wolcott. I hear them mixing with LaMega. Once when I was parked in the Shoprite Plaza on Wolcott Street in Waterbury I was in just the right spot to pick up WUCS. (Great Chinese Buffet in Shoprite Plaza in Waterbury by the way).

Hey all,
Good to see 1st we have COX gone to Connoisseur and now Cumulus going to Townsquare. both companies, connoisseur and Townsquare I love listening to their stations. Example 94.3 the shark and listening to Townsquare's 96.3 "the blaze" online because COX, and Cumulus both are playing burt to a crisp rock. I have had the pleasure of interning with both Cox and Cumulus but other than my radio show am out of radio. while Townsquare I don't expect active rock here like the blaze and it to stay I-95, I am happy that it is being both run locally in Connecticut now. Townsquare office located in Greenwich, Connoisseur located in Westport. Maybe I get lucky now and either one will buy the damn 103.1 translators in Stamford and Greenwich put an HD-2 active rock channel of which both are just running with relays 103.1 in Stamford with 96.3 out of NYC and the 103.1 in Greenwich with Fairfield University 90.7WHUS and have them in sync with each other Just like I-95's Relay in Norwalk with an STL link. Just my two cents. there Boom New Station 103.1 THe smallest but badest active Rocker in town. 103.1 "downtown Stamfords active rock" from Porchester to Norwalk local as local gets. there. Find me on WXCI still fridays 3-6
