firepoint525 said:Paul McCartney had several. "Helen Wheels," which mentioned several British cities, and was later added to the Band on the Run album. Curiously, Paul was against adding "Helen Wheels" to Band on the Run, even though both "Helen Wheels" and "Band on the Run" (the title track) both told of the saga of the jailer man and Sailor Sam. (Indeed, some British copies of Band on the Run still do not contain "Helen Wheels.")
Then in 1974, Paul had the double-sided single, "Junior's Farm" and "Sally G." "Junior's Farm" was about the farm in Wilson County, Tennessee, where Paul stayed during his visit to Nashville back about that time. "Sally G." was fictitious (I think), but the song made reference to several Nashville locations, like Printer's Alley. (I don't this single ever appeared on an album, except for compilation albums much later.)
Happy birthday, Paul!![]()
