KiFM 98.1 is broadcasting HDRadio. No multicast stations noted. That'll please the four people who invested and use the new fangled technology.

Oh fer cryin' out loud! What a waste of time, money, and engineering resources. Like Wisenpooper has nothing better to do and the rate on spots is soaring from the hundreds of thousands of "digital revolution" listeners. Tell us how that "see-dee" quality plays in Escondido Chris. Lower bit rate than an MP3. What an advance in technology!

Cracks me up: I had to visit Fried Electronics in San Marcos today (getting an ethernet over powerline to complete my internet connection ... another story on that one on the 'last mile' and 'last yard'). I ventured by the famous HDRadio display located near the car stereos and home radio area. Yep, ladies and gentlemen ... nice poster of HDRadio available in San Diego. Even had a fancy HDRadio receiver there. Of course, the POS could not get a HDRadio signal -- even from 92.1 KSOQ (KSON's North County powerhouse) tower that is visible from the parkin' lot.

The only reason I have HDRadio in my truck is the incentives and the iPhone connection. I bought a name-brand radio from a major catalog store (with self-install instructions) for $160. Then they bought my in-dash radio and I have $50 store credit.

Six screaming whats ... sorry, if it was 6-watts of power KSOQ would make it inside the building. For the exception of a few places, I cannot hear HDRadio making inroads, especially in North County. The LA Basin has good coverage; it is flat there and monster antenna height on the FMers.

5.8 watts won't make it light enough to pee in your bathroom and miss the floor. Hybrid Digital seedy quality radio stayed in the barn after the doors were closed and the ponies escaped. It doesn't work Chris. It never could have worked. It's voodoo radio without the gris gris. Got no mojo neither. It's a farce, started as a farce and will always be a farce. It's a bill of goods the "alliance"" thought would bring them AIG bucks as they tried to dupe the broadcasters into the next new magical thingy that didn't involve content. Let's say it all together now. What do the listeners want? CONTENT! What could the listeners care less about? A new digital "thingy" that doesn't work and costs them $200.

I don't know. I'm old and dried up, but I don't get the pouring of money and engineering resources (and the fees paid to ISicquity) for the privalege of running a system no one cares about, needs, or makes no difference to a tree. I suppose at some point broadcasters will address the real issues they have with having no live staff, no localism, no relevance, no revenue, but a glorious full of artifacts, "digital" system that no one listens to anyway.

Makes you glad the broadcaster geniouses didn't run AIG at least. Could have been much worse I guess.

With out of country groups starting to run radio stations in LA, HDRadio never hitting a mark, and manglement missing the point of why we love radio (it's for the entertainment) .... sign of the times.

At least AIG paid bonuses .....
