two good interviews took place tonight on mike phillips party zone. proving to all the fools who bad-mouthed him, before you open your mouth,give the guy a chance. sure, improvements are needed, but it was nothing like you thought it would be. but, how can that be!!!! you are the "professionals".you tried to sabotage the show with your stupid, moronic, immature, unprofessional behavior.ie, crank phone calls.[ and you know who you are !!!!]it just proves one, you are not the so called "experienced professions that you make yourselves out to be.

There was more bad grammar coming from the host tonight than in a press release from Coatesville City Government. ("I seen you" and many others.)
What is so good about a host who doesn't use proper grammar. In my opinion, a very amateurish show. Kim Douglas did break the world's record for using "You know" on the radio...you know?
And what's the deal with ramping up the excitement and volume for your "station IDs?" I listened once for grins. I won't subject myself to that kind of bad grammar and broadcasting again.

Well, I'm back at home and came online here to find out what I missed...
As I told Mike on last week's Radio Racket, all of the Racketeers in the area are at the Audubon Ale House Thursday nights around 9PM so they're unavailable to listen to the WNJC show. And, of course, I was unable to hear the show. I wish WNJC archived its programs the way WNWR does (and did for RJ).
I tried in vain to get WNJC in the parking lot of the Ale House, but since it's a low-power station, I instead got WDRC out of Hartford on 1360.
I do find it interesting that Mike kind of trashed Scott Graham on our show last week (when he claimed former Phillies broadcaster Tom McCarthy would be his guest), saying Mr. Graham basically wasn't all that great of a guest (after being told we had Scott on with us shortly after he had been dismissed by the Phillies organization). Now, Mike has Graham as his "serious" guest. So in other words, Graham was a crappy guest for us (when his story was newsworthy) but he was a dynamite guest for him (long after the story had died down). Make sense. Not.
What happened to Tom McCarthy and Dan Gross (of the "Daily News"), the two "big-name" guests Mike said would be featured?
By the way, a little bit of grammar and a small dose of understanding-of-the-English-language go a long way in the court of public opinion.
P.S. -- I'm sorry to hear pranksters got the best of Mike on his show. Hopefully Mike will call-in to the Racket and let us know what happened.

yes ladytalk, he is an amateur, but how does one become a pro? you have to start somewhere, don't you? as far as mike being too painful to listen to, we are a city whose newspaper has a headline"yo philly" if you are from philly, did you stop buying the paper? our top 40 stations are full bad grammar, slang, diction, ebonics etc. did you stop buying the cds and listening to the stations that play them? yes, you are right, i told mike that some improvements are needed. lets give credit when it's warranted, and lets give constructive criticism for the purpose of helping, not to take pleasure in it.
Actually, I don't listen to radio or TV hosts who sound illiterate or buy music from artists who have no command of the English language.
The host in question writes as poorly as he speaks. It has nothing to do with being a Philadelphian. His grammar was bad, he needs remedial grammar classes. That's a constructive point. I'm not tearing the guy down; I am suggesting that he take positive steps to improve his grammar. Very few people will take him seriously if he does not speak properly. Amateur? Even an amateur boxer has to learn the basics of his craft before stepping into the ring. Otherwise, he will get killed.
This host should take remedial grammar and English classes before cracking the mic again. If not, he will not garner the respects and success he desires.
Some posters might also want to learn about punctuation and capitalization.
