I've spent time in Seattle and listened to Bob Rivers on occasion and I believe like many personalities his history and tenure in the market contributed a great deal to his strong ratings in the diary world. Now he's moved to a new station and it seems that the listeners of KJR-FM don't want an all talk show in the morning, they want their music. Maybe the truth is that all along, these personalities like Rivers never really had as many listeners as they thought they had, in that the diaries were more about brand recall and familiarity , rather than actual listening. The first PPM month is out after the hiring of Rivers , and the listeners have spoken. The whole station dropped considerably. Maybe CC needs to force Rivers to play 8 songs an hour like they do with another high profile CC personality in L.A. Ryan Seacrest. His numbers are huge, and so is his station. All talk morning show on music stations just don't seem to work in PPM.
