KLIF-570/Cumulus has CANCELED Coast-To-Coast, George Noory

You can get it on 1110 at night.

You know with cumulus dumping all these hosts,
youd think if CC was Serious about 1190...
They might actually be able to build a station out of it now.

Oh no!!!! Grandmomma is gonna be upset.

Noticed this morning that Laura Ingraham is on 1190 now. They picked up Savage awhile back when KLIF dropped him. Maybe they'll pick up Coast to Coast.

Living in Fort Worth near TCU I can't get 1190 after about 6:30. I really miss listening to Dr. Savage in the evenings.

I had tuned in to see if 1190 was still playing Classic Country in morning drive & heard Laura Ingraham.

They (1190) might actually be able to build a station out of it now.

  • 8-11 Laura Ingraham
    11-2 Huckabee
    2-5 Jerry Doyle

    Overnight Coast To Coast

Sounds like a pretty good start for a schedule to me.

Seeing that Huckabee is on 570 KLIF from 11-1 that would be hard.

What kind of pattern does 1190 have at night? (It's probably not something that would work for me in North Dallas.)

Where is the transmitter for daytime ? night?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

daytime - Irving
nighttime - Rockwall, 12 tower array

At 50K, the daytime signal is a beast: Abilene to Marshall and Waco to almost OKC. The map of the night signal on radio-locator is extremely generous. Draw a line from the transmitter site in Rockwall through downtown into Duncanville. It doesn't get more that 5 to 10 miles wide off that line depending on where you are. It is audible but very scratchy at Belt Line and Coit in Richardson. Go a couple of miles north up belt Line to Campbell and you can't hear it at all.

EIGHT HOURS of John Bachelor!!! Pretty sure they're trying to get the overnight board-ops to commit suicide.
:D

Gee - I am actually a fan of John Batchelor's program. He covers issues in depth and touches on some pretty offbeat subjects that few others cover. I learned about him when someone told me that he always plays an old 1934 Al Bowlly recording at midnight. When I checked the program out I quickly became hooked. For once, Cumulus has done something I actually approve of. And 8:00 PM is a lot more convenient for me to listen to than the single hour at 11:00 PM that WBAP carried and more convenient than downloading the podcast from WABC.

I now know where I will switch my dial to when Krok comes on (and it will be the first time in many years since I have switched my dial from WBAP to some other local talk station).

Above there's a comment that 1190 can't be received at night in the TCU area. But the map shows it's included.

I've been listening to Coast-To-Coast on an internet connection, switching between KFI and WOAI. But this is far from desirable, since I can't receive the program in the car or at a relative's home. Currently it works only in one room of my house. Internet connections are not "radio," which still has advantages.

Maybe you should just go to sleep...and feel refreshed for the following day.
