KMAS co-owner Dale Hubbard now a cable company magnate

In a press release KMAS now becomes “iFiberOne NewsRadio” after merging with Eastern Washington cable provider iFiber. Hubbard and Jerry Eckenrode take executive roles within the merged organization.
The one question is - why?

Oh - in the press release - it said "iFIBER ONE provides in-depth local news and sports coverage of the Columbian Basin". Hey Bongwater - maybe you should move there? :)

Why not? Given how the broadcast industry has become more IT-intensive, the move diversifies Hubbard's Shelton operation into a direction that's not completely foreign to what they're doing now.

Their line-up keeps changing as far as evenings are concerned but partly due to Art Bell having second thoughts to broadcasting for the second or 3rd time in a row. Must be frustrating for a station owner to have someone bail after a couple of months.

No thanks. Not a big fan of Moses Lake. Or Shelton. Too stuffy and conservative for my taste. I like Bellingham.
