Fresno Bee reports that the contract with Fresno State Football and Basketball will not be renewed and will go to KFIG 940.

First they lose all syndicated programming to Clear Channel , now this, I guess that the rumour that 105.9 will go to a AOR format at the first of the year will be true.

Weren't you guys listening? Jenn Lipp will host morning drive on FM 1059 and then go from 9-11am on 580. According to the bee's article, Fresno state and some company called Learfield hiked the rights fees more than 110%. Football might be a loss to KMJ, but who cares about bulldog basketball anyways?

Jen Lipp will be on 9-11 on 580,Uncle Ray 11-2,Then Chris,Inga and Roger Hedgecock.Did not say what they are doing with overnights.

Hey WackyPants, You were the one that said 105.9 was going with a rock format like the old KRZR, you said you had reliable sources, so if not what is the talk line up for 105.9 besides Jenn from 6-8AM.

With KMJs new lineup, it is doomed to fail. It will not work.

Oh I don't know, ratings probably split between KMJ and powertalk. Now why Jen vs Rush? Why not go Ray 9-noon and see if you can't put a dent in the big guy, afraid Ray isn't that popular? Also, how long will KMJ want to split the ratings between the two stations?

I was listening to John Broeske last week when Ray was on vacation. Broeske was good!!! I think HE should be in that lineup.
Broeske is Better than Ray is

INDEED!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Listening to KMJ (and most talk radio) is like watching a baseball game, where the pitcher and the batter are on the same team. The 'pitcher' being the 'call screener''. No 'funny stuff' is allowed to get thru. More like Tee Ball. It's all choreographed to make the host look good and make his point, no matter how devoid of factual truth. Ahh, but it sounds so 'authoritative' to those who don't know how the set up works. Can't call 'em on their blatant misinformation, there's always the "it's only opinion", it's not meant to be ""factual", "it's entertainment" excuses.

Circle the bases. ;)

Album Oriented Rock... a format that doesnt exist anymore

I meant to say ACTIVE ROCK like the old 103.7 KRZR, whether that really happens.

One thing I predicted came true, Chris Daniel will do all 4 hours on the AM from 2-6 starting January 2.

What bothers me about the new KMJ lineups (and could be extended to the current programming) is that they are 1 man shows. It's just my personal preference, but not a single show is a radio team. I like shows like Armstrong and Getty, John and Ken, and Bill Handel (which is more than just Handel). In fact all those shows include more than the names in the headline. They all are alive, busy, topical, comical and don't rely on callers. They all do well in ratings too.

Chris Daniel and Brad Gieze used to do a show on the short-lived 106.9 FM Talk (I forget the specific name) in San Francisco. It was a good show. Even though I found Chris to be the stronger part of the pair, on his own, he just doesn't grab me.

I really want KMJ to do well, but those one-person formats for those particular personalities just don't keep me entertained. I'll continue to listen to streaming talk from areas outside of my home.

I think Doug Ray will be part of the FM line up, whether his show will be all talk or mixed with music.
