KMJE now "Sunny 95.5" via 101.5 and former KUBA (AM) TX on Sutter Buttes

While the Woodland dump-site transmitter location isn't in operation... KMJE remains licensed to serve Gridley, and continues to transmit from atop Sutter Buttes on 101.5...

AND on the Sutter Buttes translator K238AV that now Sister AM station KUBA originally had authority to use on 95.5.

KMJE is now calling itself "Sunny 95.5" with promos that "Sunny is now on 95.5."

(What a waste of bandwidth through this duplication. KUBA's music in Stereo was enjoyable and had more frequency response)

A legal ID on Tue. Jan. 3, at 2 a.m. ID'd as "KKCY HD-2 Colusa and KMJE, Gridley" No mention of the translator's calls.

There's no FCC paperwork on the switch from KUBA to KMJE... and I don't know whether that's required. An antenna orientation tweak was begun before the sale of KUBA to Results was completed, with the paperwork filled out by Results' CTO.

Results appears to have filed for a new translator CP in conjunction with the KMJE relocation...

Results was granted modified terms per this doc:

"This authorization re-issued 8/12/2011 to reflect a change in the primary station to KMJE(FM), Gridley, CA and special operating conditions and restrictions."

The second page notes:
Principal community to be served: CA-YUBA CITY Primary Station: KMJE (FM) , Channel 268, WOODLAND, CA Via:Direct - off-air
Frequency (MHz):95.5

1 K238AV MUST CEASE OPERATION IF PROGRAM TEST FOR THE KMJE(FM) FACILITIES SPECIFIED IN BMPH-20110627ABB COMMENCE OPERATION.

A previous authorization notes the TX would be fed by Microwave:

So one wonders what's going to happen to the "Sunny" format when the 101.5 transmitter is fired up in Woodland.

It's interesting following this thread. Yet another rim shot Sacramento signal. I guess by definition it will cover Sac metro nicely. It is disapointing that some many smaller markets suffer with moves like this. 103.9 moved off the Sutter Buttes 5+ years ago, now 101.5.

This is a frustrating situation for Results. Davis is known to be a very politically proactive community with vocal citizens. I used to live in San Luis Obispo, an even more vocal community that to this day doesn't allow drive-thru restaurants because it "ruins the small town character."

One could argue that the 500-ft KSFM tower, which sits MUCH closer to the Davis city limits already has created a visual impact to the skyline and would pose a similar risk to the Pacific Flyway. The Results tower would be at the city landfill, further from central Davis and 135 feet shorter.

I think KDVS's interest is Results' strongest support to the environmental concerns.

Does anyone read the Sacramento radio board anymore? I guess not. Radio is dead!

With a few exceptions, Sac radio is dead.

I especially enjoy regular hosts taking a few months vacation each year. If only working stiffs like me could do that.

I'm now listening to Tom Leykis only available online. 8)
