KNUS, Bob Morrison, 11-73, 10th anniversary of the JFK assassination

Well, it did get me that job in LA that I was gunning for. 3 mos later, off to the west.
And, although we did do blood & guts, especially on KLIF (KNUS was supposed to be more erudite) but we never did it as nasty as that CKLW guy. That guy, btw, Grant Hudson, also did sports later on the USA Radio Network in Dallas (or at least that's what I remember being told when I was there). But, man, I thought it was nasty running the tape of the guy screaming after his motorcycle crashed (leg injury). But that child "squashed" beyond recognition -- don't think I would have made it thru the cast without tossing my cookies. It was "theater of the mind". But not quite what Orson Welles had in mind, methinks. Happy Thanksgiving 2010 Everybody!!! Bob M

I'd rather hear KNUS Information than CKLW 20/20 News. If it bleeds, it leads seems like considerable understatement listening to CKLW.

One of the worst TV stations of the era was KGO in San Francisco ... the blood-and-guts stations.

Yo Bob....Happy Thanksgiving! Actually, Grant Hudson didn't work at USA Radio Net. You're thinking of Grant Boone who was our Sports Director from 1994 to about '97. Grant, btw, is the nephew of Pat Boone. One day Pat came in decked out in leather, studded jewelry and all sorts of crap. That was when he was going thru some weird faze. Even recorded some heavy metal stuff. Nice guy, although I think Grant was a little embarrassed by his uncle's attire that day.

I remember when Pat Boone went through that phase. He got a lot of his friends, his religious supporters and ministry pretty upset with him, but he got the message and dropped the whole bit pretty quick and went back to the "white buck shoes"!

Pat could have written his own version of "Garden Party".
