knxt fires "radio star" for being anti-Iraq war...boring producer takes over

One of few "radio star" winners" Jeneene ? something .....who was half way good on the air......(good voice... good on air personality) was fired by KXNT for expressing doubts about the Iraq war ......Boring Jody and STOCK/HARRIS SCREENER Patrick DeFalayzeo now occupy the Sunday time slot..I hope they end the "radio star" contests ....they are looking for managemnent kiss-ups ....irrespective of the viewpoint on the Iraq war or anything else....if they want people to parrot management views ...hire off the street...don't jerk off and waste the time of "radio star" contest people.....they did not have the backbone to formally announce the changes ...they just slipped it in...what a joke.....maybe Heidi and Alan will talk about whether it is good to pop zits on Mondays show??

Hmmm

DL, seems you're not in the loop. I heard from a friend over there that she quit because of the pay. She thought she would get MILLIONS friom winning, only to find out it was a hourly wage.

Your credibility is waning from your irresponsible posts! Are you one of the radio star losers?

I listen to the show and what she said...she was as good as stock and harris...if not better.....you are correct though the STATION SHOULD HAVE MADE IT CLEAR WHAT THE CONTEST WINNER SHOULD GET IN THE WAY OF PRIZES, PAY ETC. that's what they do at American Idol which is where KXNT stole the idea to have a radio contest.....and with the unexplained absence of the radio star winner...HOW many people did she beat out??? future contests will have credibilty ha ha ha

Not only should it have been made clear about the bonuses that come with winning that kind of prize/job, the winner should have asked if he/she had views that did not reflect or agree with station management, would there be any kind of conflict, disciplinary action, or other adverse consequences that would follow that kind of occurence. The last time I checked, there is a constitutional provision for freedom of speech in this country, & any kind of barrier that would limit that use should be avoided, especially in a workplace setting. What good is having a talk program if the exchange or airing of disagreeing views about whatever the subject happens to be grounds for dismissal from employment? If management is that thin-skinned about airing a dissenting opinion, maybe they should be in another line of work.

Hahahahhaahahahhahahhahah. This is a business not government, learn what the first amendment says before you start crying about it. That being said, if she wasn't resonated with listeners or advertisers because of her views or her voice... then she had to go. It is all about the $$$$.

Re: knxt fires "radio star" for being anti-Iraq war...boring producer takes over

no one listens to the "radio stars" anyway ...why don't they tell contest participants they have to be a shill for the iraq war? even though people like William F Buckley, George Will, Pat Buchanan, etc etc said its been a flop? I doubt they will have another contest...after all people may protest...speaking of kxnt ...what coverage did they have of the propane explosions? and trasffic problems...?

Re: knxt fires "radio star" for being anti-Iraq war...boring producer takes over

I listened a little bit this morning. I liked it better than with the two women.

I have really gotten into Smooth Jazz on Sunday mornings. I think it really hits LV nicely.

Re: knxt fires "radio star" for being anti-Iraq war...boring producer takes over

the smooth jazz is good ..but sometimes they cut in with pop or soul...they should stick to instrumental.

..there is no male v. female dynamic on that jody patrick show ....they sound like they have been fixed....the Jenny?? radio star winner ? whoever sounded like a woman.... Jody sounds like she needs a hormone shot and she is always pushing taxpayer funded projects: high speed train ...light rail etc...and she works for a civil engineering firm...do I smell a conflict here????

the name "radio star" is probably not copyrighted....I hope another station hires her and promotes her as the radio star winner...she was better than the guy that went to Texas

Any dissent in Las Vegas will be treated harshly by Station Management. The stations can't be seen as peddling liberal viewpoints because the Casinos/Hotels will take there business elsewhere. The Casino/Hotels do not anyone revving up the union workers or even the non-union workers. Radio, Casinos, Hotels, it's all business.

Re: knxt fires "radio star" for being anti-Iraq war...boring producer takes over

I didn't realize that the Casino industry advertised that much locally. You know how me and the little lady like to spend our weekends at the Bellagio......NOT
