KOSS 105-5 The Oasis changed to a simulcast of KIIS FM! What the hey!

Ok how come KOSS 105.5 The Oasis changed format? Why does KIIS fm need another dumb simulcast??? They have a bunch already and are streaming online! I didn't get the Oasis voice overs recorded either! I mean, what the heck happened here? There isn't even an explanation! I hate that Kiss! It's just a top 40 CHR leaning rhythmic. Reminds me of WXSS here in Milwaukee. Flip the dumb Kiis format entirely itself IMO! Does anyone have any airchecks or big logos of KOSS? I really wanted their liners on tape.

Clear Channel corporate has a secret plan to improve the quality of radio on So Cal. As a listener, you do not have a "need-to-know". ???

Remember Minot January 2002!!!!!

It had been reported at All Access that the Clear Channel/Lancaster/ntelope Valley cluster would be firing people there as well. They said that that the local on-air staff of Modern AC KOSS (THE OASIS)/Lancaster was let go, as the station is now simulcasting KIIS/LOS ANGELES. It is now "105.5 KIIS FM."

It was expected that Country KTPI/Lancaster will rebroadcast Modern AC KYSR (STAR 98.7)/LOS ANGELES) sometime after Christmas.

Pretty sad...

105.5 does have a better signal in the western portion of the Antelope Valley than 97.7, which should thrill the coyotes to know end, for an area of over 400,000 you would think it could support some form of local radio. High Desert Broadcasting is mostly voice tracked; Greedy Adelmen Broadcasting’s “Bob FM” is nothing more than an I-pod with commercials. Clear Channel the name speaks for itself ”Sludge Radio”
Broadband Radio is now the only local radio in the AV.

Cheaper to build mini networks of KIIS etc than it is to operate all of those stations separately.

More likely is that adding a tenth or two tenths to the KIIS ratings is more profitable than having a station separately programmed in a corner of the LA market where increasingly less local business is available as the big box and chain stores and services move in. On the other hand, a simulcast with KIIS might add several million in billing potential, since the Antilope Valley is part of the LA market, not a separate market.
