KPPZ-LP 98.5 Kansas City now hip-hop/R&B

It must have changed sometime in the past couple days.
Now I'm hearing a wide variety of hip-hop and R&B on the LPFM. Lots of remixes too. Audio sounds pretty good, no announcements/ID messages of any kind yet but they're just getting started.

"Due to a partial lapse in federal government funding, the Consumer Complaints Center is unavailable for new consumer complaints"

That is the message now I get from the FCC website. I guess KPPZ-LP is free to do whatever they want.

You should call or email them to mention the new format and the lack of legal IDs. Do you know what comprises a legal ID for a Low Power FM or LPFM? It's just like all the rest: call sign as appearing on license followed by city of license. Some miss an important part that didn't get past you: LP. It is KPPZ-LP, (I'm guessing) Kansas City (and you might include Missouri depending how close you are to State Line Road). In the prior century some stations did so.

I did call once in 2023 after hearing dead air for 3 months on the LPFM. She simply asked me to leave it alone and then the signal went off for another 9 months.

Some people must not ccare too much or might not have good engineering.

They were playing Urban Gospel DJ mixes a few minutes ago (it's Sunday), but now back to ID-less hip-hop/R&B and heavy on classics. I haven't heard a song newer than 2015 or so. Right now I'm hearing either live or pre-recorded DJ mixing.
I also heard a bit of alternative rock/classic rock earlier.

This LPFM still has no legal ID messages on it.

But it's not the only one that isn't completely professional.
At least two of the other local ones have been off-air for over a year with no FCC notification. :)
