KRCM-AM and translator now “Jesús Radio”

This probably only interests 2 other people on here but… The 99.9 translator that used to be Radio Aleluya and had recently been dead air is back as Jesús Radio. 1380 matches 99.9.
Two people might be the total audience of 1380’s 50 watt night signal, which covers a few farm houses.🙄 The 22kw day signal does okay in the northern parts of the market.

KRCM has cycled through several programmers since it signed on with the current facility. We’ll see how long this latest effort can hang around.

The 99.9 translator covers a few of the far flung suburbs and exurbs in NW Harris County, and yes, it is notorious for long stretches of dead air. At my location it often fights it out with KHIH.
Send KRCM back to Beaumont where it belongs!
To a market a small fraction the size of Houston…so it can do…what? Turn in its license sooner?🤪😖

They left B/PA for good reason. AM is irrelevant there outside of KLVI. Seriously, what would you do with the station that would actually make money?
The ownership changes over the years did no favors for that station. Decades ago it had the call letters KJET and was a vibrant part of the community. It eventually was sold a few times and the last time it was successful in Beaumont is was a talk station. At some point they lost the tower and had to go to a long wire transmitter temporarily. Eventually they moved to their present location. I’m surprised they’re still there.

As for relevance, even KLVI is irrelevant on AM now.
