From the latest C.H.R.S. emailing:
KRE STAFF and FAMILY REUNION
Sunday, October 24th, 12 - 4 PM at KRE. Did you work at 601 Ashby Ave. in Berkeley at KRE, KPAT, KBLX or KBFN or know someone who did? We are trying to locate and contact as many former KRE employees, managers and family members as possible. We have a huge time frame from, 1937 through the late 1980s, and lots of folks to find.
We will have lunch, we will get as many people as we can on video tape to archive this station's great history and we will have fun. Come and share your KRE stories. If you haven't visited the KRE station in awhile, you will be pleased to see that the California Historical Radio Society has transformed this formerly vacant and derelict historical building into a lasting tribute to radio and radio broadcasting, including housing the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame.
So, please spread to word about this event and email Art Lebermann [email protected] or Steve Kushman [email protected] to reserve your space at the event or to pass along contact information. We need to know the number of people attending so adequate food can be arranged. You can also RSVP by calling (415) 821-7671.
