Catching KREB 1190 in Memphis right now (8:47 P.M. CST) with local commericals for Northwest Arkansas buisnesses (Campus Book Store, and Auto repair shop on School street, etc.) and Fox Sports. Left on when they're not supposed to be as they're a daytimer.

As one who's mostly been on the business side of the media industry, I can't help but wonder if those local merchants will be sent....and pay...invoices for illegal broadcasting! ;D

Lately I'm hearing KQQZ country fighting it out with WOWO in the early morning (5-6 am) time slot here in the North Chicago suburbs.

Checking night time power for KQQZ it should be very low (~22 watts). Any idea why they would be making it into the Chicago area? Are they also "forgetting" to power down at night?

Last night I also picked up a Canadian station on the frequency at about the same signal strength. Could not pull out the ID but from the heading and temperatures mentioned in the weather report, I would guess it's Weyburn, SK.

They have a permit to increase night power to 650 watts -- I'm hearing it frequently & well here in the Nashville area so strongly suspect the 650-watt CP is on.

However, neither the new night pattern nor the day pattern should be putting much of anything into the Chicago area. Sounds like something is out of whack in the directional pattern.
