What is going on over at Kroq? First they bring Stryker back cutting an hour from Kat Corbett and Sluggo and now they give Nicole Alvarez 8-12 and push Loveline to 12a-2a. Anyone else think this wont last as long as the silly Kevin and Bean "Cinco de la tarde" stunt they tried to pull last year?

I just find it weird that they don't have and never had(?) an afternoon slot 2-6 or 3-7. Why split the afternoon drive?

It's obviously due to KYSRs lead in the ratings...playing music rather than Loveline gives KROQ a better chance to compete with KYSR during those times. 10pm-12am is still prime time and heavily advertised.
Maybe the people who would listen to "Loveline" are just as likely to listen later and it would not be affected. To be honest I listen to stations like KROQ for the music and I tuned out when "Loveline" came on but I am sure that there are people who tune in just for it.
Or perhaps with all of the social networking online tweeting Loveline is becoming a victim of changing demographics like a lot of the stuff us old fogies enjoy. The younger people may have just moved on to newer technology.

Last I saw, in PPM 98.7 was killing Kroq in the 10pm-12am hours.
If you jump back and forth between stations and you don't want to hear a 16 year old talk about genital warts, then you're jumping to 98.7.

They may not SELL much time between 10 and midnight, but they can certainly give away the time in order to hit a CPP goal on a buy.
Dr. Drew tweeted a few days back that he expects to see Psycho Mike around "Loveline" a lot more in the near future. He was co-hosting that night, so maybe a charging of the guard is in the offing.

Um, Sluggo was doing 2-6pm as recently as three weeks ago.
As for Loveline, keep in mind it's a Westwood One show, and airs on KROQ. Loveline has been missing a co-host for just over a year, ever since Stryker left.

In my opinion you beat back a copy cat by never letting them get any foothold. If his threat is winning 10p-12m with music, Kevin should act like the 800-pound gorilla and give them a taste of their own medicine. Loveline could also be suffering from Dr. Drew's overexposure. You dont need to listen to loveline anymore, the dude is EVERYWHERE. Dr Drew should tap the break on his exposure before he tarnishes his brand. At KROQ, Kevin's foot is on the break, a little tap seems prudent to me.

Hmmm...I was listening to KROQ late last night, and Rick Savage mentioned at the end of his shift, when Psycho Mike was coming in the studio, how he was leaving 106.7. I had to give this thread a bump as it appears KROQ is once again showing Loveline no love.
Why isn't KROQ running Loveline repeats? I know 91X is running the repeats so why isn't the mothership? It's not like everyone hears every minute of every show and remembers everything.
