This is another CBS Radio-owned property, and it looks like they may become Sacramento's version of 97.1 Amp Radio, L.A.
They've been one of the strongest supporters on the Rhythmic panel of 3 Oh! 3's "Don't Trust Me". Aside from being early on that song (for a Rhythmic station) they also helped break the Ting Tings "That's Not My Name" on crossover radio.
They've just added Cobra Starship's "Good Girl Go Bad" so the question remains whether they'll stay Rhythmic, or move more towards a Rhythmic leaning CHR/Pop station. In the just released ratings KSFM is back in the lead over rival CHR/Pop 107.9 The End, and rival Rhythmic 103.5 The Bomb. KSFM has been doing Top/Rhythm or Top 40/Dance since around 1988, and even before then it was a very crossover leaning CHR - Rick Gilette was its program director in the mid 80s before he got the gig to program Detroit's 96.3 WHYT (then known as Power 96).
Also, be on the lookout for Wild 97.7 Albuquerque to head more towards CHR/Pop. They're already playing 3 Oh! 3's follow-up "Starstrukk" in medium rotation. The station's parent company recently launched another Rhythmic in town, Power 106, so chances are Wild will be going after CHR/Pop station 93-3 KOB while Power will challenge heritage Rhythmic Kiss 97.3.
