KTVT/11, KTXA/21 to move Dallas bureau farther north on Central Expwy.

http://bizbeatblog.dallasnews.com/2...s-75-in-dallas-are-getting-the-cbs-name.html/

I'd heard a while back that KTVT/11 had wanted to depart their longtime Dallas property on North Central, but I had not seen any updates, till now, about a replacement. The linkie above shows a pic of where Ch.11 & 21 will move; an office tower once called Coit Central Tower (12001 N. Central, by the Forest Lane and Coit exits). The article calls it Coit Tower, and says as part of the deal the building will be renamed "CBS Tower" (not to be confused with the gray building at Fitzhugh which houses CBS' local radio stations; that building will also be renamed, per the article, to "CBS Radio Tower" from Fitzhugh Central Tower). No word given as to when the TV stations will make their move.

The soon-to-be-vacated spot should be worth quite a bit as a retail/commercial lot when it gets redeveloped.

Ch.11/Ch.21 and CBS have wasted no time since the announcement in the original post to put their names on the building where the Dallas bureau is moving. I saw the building last night on the way to work; they had 11's and 21's logo lit up on the south side of the building, while the CBS logo was lit up on the north side. On the way home this morning, I snapped these pics:

Sorry it's blurred, but you can make out 11's and 21's logos at the top of the building:

From the north, a better shot, of the CBS sign:

At the turn into the building's driveway, the "CBS Tower" sign can be found:

And, for now, the long-time (but not the original!) Ch.11 sign on the tower of the soon-to-be-previous bureau location:
