KTXD-TV Dallas to Me-TV February

It's on the air! Must have flipped around 3pm. I had checked earlier this afternoon and it was still religious programming. At 3:20 or so, Kojak was on.
Couple of notes... PSIP finally has the right call letters.
Most important: 47.1 is now broadcasting in 1080i - looks good.
They added a 47.4 - which is a 480 version of Me-TV

Final note, due to the sudden flip, Verizon Fios has only the audio of the channel now. The screen is dark.

Looks fine on Time Warner

It'll be strange flipping by to see something worth watching...seems like the previous weeks were a lot of food vixen Cathy Mitchell hawking the Redi Set Go over and over and televangelist Jim Bakker selling survival kits.

Just checked my TV for the top-of-hour... I'm getting "47" again after the "46" phase earlier, the KTXD calls show now in the PSIP corner-screen labeling, I'm getting a few pixel-speckles here and there but that's probably because I haven't gotten an outdoor antenna yet, and I didn't see a station ID either (although that might be worked on later, even though I've already seen them do a station ID several weeks before).

Also, I did a web domain owner search, and ktxdtv.com has been reserved by London, but the site hasn't launched yet.

Well, I'm eating crow on this. Somewhere back many posts in this board, I offered that opinion that, even with the new ownership, the programming would remain unchanged. My reasoning was that London would want a big market station to run on the cheap as a cash cow for their other facilities.

I'm still a tad skeptical about a third English language indy (and the second full-power classic TV outlet) in town but I really hope they can make a go of this. I'm a MeTV P1 on my frequent trips to Chicago and I wish that WCIU's success happens here with KTXD.

A slight clarification and a VERY odd note: The reason my screen was dark and I could hear audio on Fios is that I was looking on an SD box in my bedroom. For some reason, Fios is sending out KTXD's HD signal on channel 18. My HD box decodes it just fine - and I'm sure it's the HD feed. Every other HD channel on the Fios lineup is put on channels 500 or higher.

Earlier today, I checked several online grids, with TitanTV not listing KTXD at all, TV Guide seemed to be listing what Ch. 47 used to air, and Zap2It seemed partially right, listing religious shows when KTXD was actually showing The Rebel. Also, there's no program info when I try the "info" button on my TV remote. I guess that's another tweak to come.

I wonder, since it's been at least a month now, if KTXD ever plans to give a legal ID ever again.
Wonder if the FCC is somehow fine with the KTXD calls in the logo stuck at the top of the screen? Thought they had a legal ID they ran at the top of the hour, but I haven't seen it in a while.

If the logo had "KTXD Greenville" under it, they would be OK, but it doesn't. FCC rules require a legal ID for full power TV stations every hour at or near the top of the hour, which they don't appear to be doing over the last couple of weeks.

For what it's worth, I just saw a legal ID. The stuck the Me-TV logo on it too.

Last hour, I saw the updated ID -- didn't look bad. I wondered how they were going to add MeTV's logo.

This hour, no ID.

One thing KTXD/London needs to work on is getting with all the online grid providers to get them all uniform and current.

Schedule looks good, the churchy stuff till 12:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday is a bit off putting though, I hope they trim back on that in the future.

Other than that It looks great!

DirecTV finally seems to have the schedule right now.

Im sure that London believes that Childrens programming is "optional" just like EAS.

By the way concerning the EAS from the "engineer" that responded.

You must still maintain and operate a functional EAS receiver even if you are a "non-participating station". You must also still run weekly and monthly tests. If a national activation happens you have to post a slate stating that an activation has happened and to tune to their competitor. Once the slate has been up for a short period YOU MUST SHUT OFF YOUR TRANSMITTER! Once the activation is complete you may resume transmitting and programming. It is easier to run EAS!!! By the way I called the FCC for clarification on this matter. Plus it is spelled out in the EAS manual.

Confirmation that it's an HD-only feed on Fios: I saw their ID this morning and it's in full HD. Fios is simply not offering an SD feed of the station. Very odd.. and probably not a good thing for KTXD in Fios households.

Where's the required children's programming?

Me-TV tags the Saturday morning "Green Screen Adventures" as E/I. The Me-TV 7-10AM Saturday and Sunday block is E/I.

Looks like KTXD-TV is preempting Sunday morning.

It's disappointing they are keeping the paid religious and infomercials from 12:30-9AM

The interesting thing is that they keep Me-TV on 47.4 regardless of what's on 47.1. Last night they had religious programming on 47.1 at 11:30 and The Untouchables on 47.4
