KTXL's Newstar 40 Promo with Leslie Nielsen aka "Beyond the Nut Tree" Slogan

Its interesting how "Beyond the Nut Tree" got referenced though. I know its a shopping center in Vacaville, CA and its a reference to how Solano County, CA is considered the outer suburbs of both Sacramento and Bay Area at the same time. In other words parts of Solano County get their TV signals from the Bay Area like Vallejo and Benicia. This is while Dixon, Rio Vista and Vacaville get Sacramento area TV signals. Also it was referencing the signal strength of News vans at the time for the Sacramento TV stations in able to do a live news shot.

The Nut Tree was originally a touristy restaurant and very small theme park. It was eventually torn down and a shopping center built in its place, with a sign acknowledging the Nut Tree as it was a landmark for a long time.
