Sure I get it. What else are you going to do with a derelict AM station? Doesn't mean it's healthy for a modern society. When you think about it, feeding listeners conspiracy theories and falsehoods is a mental health version of the harm caused by tobacco products. Both are legal, both make organizations money.

If it covers the utility bill and part of any debt, it makes sense financially.

How can it possibly be in the public interest for stations to support those who are trying to overthow the US government?
 
I personally don't mind off topic political disagreement but some of you guys on here are full on just as crazy as those you profess to hate!! Rarely have I seen such hate on full display. Semoochie being from Portland probably doesn't have a chance at willingly being anything right of Antifa. But geez... It isn't healthy to hate so much, live and let live already. The country actually works because of divided politics, rather than in spite of it. The founders were genius in knowing that polarizing politics could ruin what they were planning so they cleverly designed multiple layers of checks and balances to prevent both majority and minority rule and tyranny. The whole system is based on compromise and once we lose that we are no better than a primative tribal culture.

Where is the compromise in saying something that doesn't mesh with your politics is labeled as "hate"?
 
Broad brush generalizations that leave no room that there could be a sane person who doesn't agree with you I call hate. It's being willfully blind. Which I am ok with, you do you, but no need to go public with your hate for all things other than you.

"You saw the tribal culture on full display on Jan 6." Also on full display at CHAZ and downtown Portland all summer long in 2020 and half of 21. If Jan 6 was so bad why was it ok for Sawant to open the door to city hall to the mobs? No different at all.

Still think you overuse the term hate. I don't think anyone here has used hateful language. Disagreement? Sure, but hate? Hardly.

False equivalency. Attacking the Capitol and our democratic processes, killing and injuring Capitol Police officers, threatening the lives of the Vice President and lawmakers, trying to stop a free and fair election, is more extreme than protests within a couple city blocks in Portland, Oregon.

None of which would have happened if the insurrectionists, trespassers, and looters had stayed outside of the fenced area.

The woman who was shot was threatening police and legislators. She had no legal business in that area. It was self-defense.
 
Russia will lose this war. They simply are not the strong military nation they once were. The rest of the western world is on Ukraine’s side. And the Ukrainians are fighting back, and that is important.

Now maybe you see the importance of viewing and listening to multiple sources of news, even ones you disagree with, so you get the whole picture and aren't left hating half the entire population.

I don't hate anyone but have been terrified since 2017! If it were just Trump, that would be one thing but the whole party promulgates these lies! They have control of 28 states and I don't even want to think of what will happen if they lie their way into ten more!
