Kudos To New England's Kiss 108 Boston, 92 Pro Providence and Kiss Dallas

It's amazing to see the kind of ratings some heritage CHRs are posting in the PPM era.
Check this out:

Kiss 108 Boston is the undisputed ratings king in Boston with a 10 share for 2 months in a row, and a cume of 1.75 million

Also posting a 10 share is 92 Pro in nearby Providence. Its cume stands at 600,000, which ain't too shabby for market 41

Down in Texas 106.1 Kiss FM continues to lead all other stations in the Metroplex with an all-time high cume of nearly 1.9 million!

We all would like to believe that stations need jocks and personality, yet Kiss 108 takes up an entire tenth of Boston's radio listening...and is one of the most vanilla jukeboxes you'll ever hear. Really says something about the utility of jocks.

??? ??? ???

Kiss is blessed to have Matty in the morning. While a few on here will frown upon the fact that he's long been out of the 18-34 demo, time and time again he's proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with in Boston radio.
Additionally, Kiss has guys like Jackson Blue whose hands down one of my favorite jacks in the country.

Based on a couple weeks when I visited there last summer, Boston is the laziest radio market I've ever heard - almost every station on the dial cuts from one song to another without any personalities, jingles, etc., and the whole tone of it IMO is just depressing - it's not just Kiss 108, it's the entire market

Yeah, I live here. I know why Kiss wins. Jackson is great, but the suits won't let him talk for more than eight seconds. And you can't talk to him if you call the station.

Even when there's a post about acknowledging several phenomenal/extratordinary ratings success stories, there's always a few bad apples that have to turn such a thread into a negative one. :D

Well done guys ::)

What you're seeing is EXACTLY what listeners do. If the station doesn't fit their exact personal tastes, they turn away. Now imagine having to program for millions of people who do that. It's vanilla in an effort to appeal to the most people possible. And apparently it's working. :)

I know this is being negative lol, but Boston has one CHR and one Rhythmic (with no Urbans), so of course Kiss 108 and Jamin 94-5 are gonna be top of the market - they essentially have no competition (except each other)

I just happen to think Kiss 108 is a really lazy station that gets away with being lazy because everyone's afraid to compete with it
