Long-Time KUOO Sports Director Joey Elbert Passes Away
Joey Elbert
(Spirit Lake)-- It's a very somber day today (Monday) here at KUOO as we have lost a long-time member of our family.

Joey Elbert, who was Sports director here at the station for more than two decades, lost his year-long battle with cancer early this (Monday) morning.

Joey was 49.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Turner Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.

Our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to Joey, his family, friends and loved ones.

Joey will be deeply missed by all of us and those he touched through his hard work and dedication.
