KVET telling listeners for hit music go to KISS FM (KHFI)

Instead of just telling them to go to KISS FM why not say for hit music tune to KHFI or The beat. Since they both are the same format.

Maybe KVET wants to drown in the ratings again

Going into a break, KHFI would tell listeners there's more music playing right now on KPEZ. Go there! Bet the KHFI advertisers loved that.

Is Austin the only Market that does this? I never hear Houston, Victoria, Corpus stations saying to tune to another station even if the same company owns them.

Clear Channel used to do it in Dayton. "If you're ever in the mood for country, why don't you check out our sister station, Buckeye Country 106.5!"

Also, the legal ID on KSLZ in St. Louis used to run something like this, "Proud to be a sister station of 93.7 The Bull KSD, KMJM Magic 105, KATZ-FM 100.3 The Beat, 1600 Hallelujah AM, and Oldies 103 KLOU, we're Z-107-7 KSLZ St. Louis!"

Maybe the advertisers are not aware of that?

Now something like that is just dumb. Not only does it confuse the listener, the listener doesn't care who your "sister station" is.

I guess when they ask the listener to turn the dial to try a sister station they're not worried they may stumble across a competitor they like better.

They will stop when the KISS-FM DJ's get tired off saying they don't have current Country music in their playlists, LOL. ::)
