KYW-TV 3 Cleveland Audio:Last Eyewitness Newscast 11PM Friday, June 18, 1965

A Radio-TV aircheck collector friend of mine from Cleveland recently sent me a CD with some very significant history on it..The largest part of the aircheck is the last half hour of KYW-1100 before the changeover to WKYC with Jay Lawrence (Still in Talk Radio in Phoenix) Satuirday Morning June 19, 1965..Along with some WRCV from Philly and earlier KYW with Jim Runyon..

The beginning of the aircheck is the best part, IMO..Portions of the final KYW-TV "Eyewitness News" from Friday, June 18, 1965. Included:

News Anchor Pat Murray shares thoughts about the changeover to WKYC at the end of his newscast..

Station Identification

Murray Introduces Dick Goddard Weather, Sponsored by Gulf Oil

The complete Weather Forecast, with Goddard, followed by elaborate on-air goodbye from Murray, Sportscaster Jim Graner and technical crew..

Goddard Intros Graner Sports, sponored by Newport Cigarettes.

Eyewitness News Close..

"Goodbye Cleveland" Editorial by General Manager Fred Walker

KYW-FM 105.7 Sign-Off

ending of Interfaith series "Credo" by announcer Tom Haley..Credo was the
title of their sign-off "Faith" series from 1958-the 1980's

The sign-off itself..

Everybody was pretty well laid back..Goddard, now in his 50th year of weather forecasting, would spend just a few months in Philly, Coming to WJW-TV 8 where he's been the last 44 years..

Tried to do a slide-show effect here..
