Laquidara nominated for Radio Hall of Fame

Howard Stern actually told his listeners not to vote for him last year. I heard it was because he upset he wasn't put in years ago. Not sure what he is telling them this year....

Without the 20-30 minutes from 9:45-10:10...10:20...whenever they stopped Mishegas, I would not be doing this for a living.

Charles and his staff were required listening.

They set the tone for the day and I never changed the dial. WBCN was the best radio station in Boston.

We were spoiled. I have heard so-called "legendary" stations' airchecks from Detroit and Chicago and Philly...

I wouldn't trade Charles's show for any of them.

He deserves in. Simple as that.

Laquidara and another radio legend, Carl deSuze should also get a nom.

I hear you on Carl or Dave.... both great radio personalities and totally Boston!
But one thing I can say about Charles is that he got me my job in radio (Though I may hate him for that now...) And I can say over the years I have run into over a hundred people that he was single handedly responsible for getting them a job in radio. The funny thing is he can't remember half of us but it doesnt matter we all remember what he did for us. I have worked with many radio personalities over the years since then but I don't know many that got so many folks hooked into the business whether they wanted it or not.. He is unique in his love for radio and his desire to bring everyone into his dream!

very very true...Charles has got my vote all the way. And one of the great guys in radio. Next year, a nomination for Carl deSuze. I know his daughter, Samantha. She also works in the biz in Providence on -air. Wonder how she would feel about it?

the problem is getting guys like that, who have been out of the business that long nominated, and then the real challenge is the voting.

I hate to say it but in a vote at the national level it would be an uphill fight without a real grass roots effort and some help from their last employer, if they are still around.
