Larry Sprinkle, WAYS/WROQ DJ and WCNC-TV weatherman, recovering from wreck

They had updated report on WCNC this morning regarding Larry Sprinkle. He is still in therapy and rehab program and is learning to walk once again. Good progress so far, but no word yet on when he will return to the air. But he is indeed definitely planning to return. Hopefully in time for his famous Halloween show.

At his age retiring might be a good idea. Occasional appearances are probably best. I do remember liking him a lot during the early years that I watched the station (I was already getting my network news from Tom Brokaw, when I still watched that) before they replaced him with a "professional" and moved him to mornings.
 
He is working hard to return and he is very much missed. He is one of the more popular personalities on the station and in Charlotte. He is learning to walk again and making good progress. It will be great to see him return when he is able to do so.
 
It would be good. I can't get up early enough to see him, or at least I don't turn on the TV if he is on later in the morning. I seem to recall local news breaks at :25 during "Today".
