Las Vegas Nevada KDWN newsman jokes about man's death

In reporting a story about an African Man who died hiding in a wheel well of a jet, the 720 AM newsman quips "well that's one way of avoiding the airline security lines" a really classy station..

Any morning show jock would have cracked the same joke. Granted, a news anchor shouldn't, but stations seem to be losing sight of the line between news anchors and show hosts.

Heh heh...that's actually pretty funny.

Do we all not know by now, in 2007, that hiding in the wheel of an airliner well isn't the smartest way to fly for free?

Is it SO out of line to point out in a colorful way that this was a STUPID thing to do?

Why the need to point out that it was an African man who so stupidly tried to stow away in an aircraft wheel well? Wouldn't the point of the story be the same regardless of the continent of origin of the stupid person?

If you're going to get bent out of shape about a lack of political correctness, shouldn't you be more careful about your own observation of PC?

I think that was all part of Mr. Arthur's modus operandi--had the victim been lily white and the news report been delivered in the same way on his local liberal talk outlet, I seriously doubt he would have had any reaction, let alone mock indignation causing him to post his tsk-tsk-ing outrage on this portal.

In other words, same old-same old from Mr. Arthur.

I dunno... that may be his motivation, but I didn't read any racism into it. I was trying to make the point that if the newscaster read the story, the show's host should have been the one to make the joke about it, not the newscaster.

So, I guess we need a warning label on the plane: "Warning: Riding in the wheel well of this plane could be hazzardous to your health." The guy must have really had a good reason for wanting out of Senegal.

As to the race of the person, most of the news stories I hard and read concerning this item said "a man from Africa" .. not "an African man".

What a moron. It sounds like he's in the running for a Darwin award!
