LAST MINUTE DX TEST ALERT!!!! WBOB-600 JACKSONVILLE FL 50,000 WATTS

Les Rayburn on the BCB logger reports a last-minute DX test will be done TONIGHT, at Midnight ET September 4th (Saturday), 11PM CT 9/3, 9PM PT, for WBOB 600 in Jacksonville FL! They will be on full 50,000 watt pattern playing CLASSIC TOP 40 music ONLY. NO SWEEPS. NO CW. NO TONES.

Yours truly tried in January 2016 for WBOB's test, but didn't have luck. My luck is even less sadly, due to long-defunct Vancouver going back on the air with Asian programming. But I will try and see what happens.

Get those phasers and SDRs ready! TONIGHT!

Absolutely, Sign me up! Sadly I think even with 50kw, I'm slightly outisde KBOB's range, and KCOL will be a challenge to null. I might go to an online SDR in my area and hit record, just in case.

UPDATE
THERE *WILL* BE CW AND SWEEP TONES AFTER ALL! Be listening tonight at midnight ET, 11p CT, 9p PT! And for Paul in the great White North, that's 8P Alaska time. ;-)
Find those headphones that block the most outside noise ;-)

Sweet, thanks. I'll be listening tonight from Fargo, ND. Not expecting much though because I'm surrounded by electrical noise...

Dumb question, but what're the sweep tones you're talking about? Just a sweep in the audio? I don't have much MW experience, I usually just DX on FM.

Sweep tones are rapid tones ascending and descending from 0-20,000 hz, I believe.

"DE WBOB" at 12:10 am edt. Strong, solid copy 20 miles west of Detroit, MI. Using a DX Engineering RF Pro 1-B loop & Sony XDR-S10HDiP receiver.

Hearing KOGO, CKSP, and likely CJWW, others mixing, no WBOB so far.

... except for AM it is likely to be something like 50 Hz to 10 kHz.

Was listening here in Fargo but unfortunately it was totally drowned out by KSJB-AM from about 90 miles away. I swear I heard some faint CW but I could be mistaken. KSJB is booming in here unfortunately...

Would appreciate someone with a decent reception sending an audio file later. Is the test still going?

KGEZ in briefly with Ray Stevens 0414z
Test still going with 1960s oldies music and occasional sweeps/CW.

Got it pretty clearly on my Sangean portable. "Ode to Billy Joe" playing at 11:20p CT, then tones between songs. Now some kind of instrumental/easy listening ditty.
Near Owensboro, Ky.

CJWW SK IDed 0425z local ads. Second talker also fading up (KCOL?) Everything but WBOB. :(

Still going, sweep tones heard at 12:22am edt. CKAT, WCAO, and WMT also heard here. But WBOB is strongest of the bunch.

Hearing it rather easily here in Pickerington, Ohio. I can hear Dave Ramsey coming from another station, but the tones are unmistakable.

Hearing the sweeps in ND! Really drowned out by the (more) locals though... :(

Ah crap. Just dropped my decent SDR off a two story balcony right onto concrete...at least my laptop didn't come with. Hah!

KCOL has been a stubborn prick here in Cheyenne, WY all evening, but now I can null it out to recieve...something of another talk station with (country?) music in the background. I suspect KSJB Jamestown, but no WBOB as of yet.
