I specifically said "in drive times." Morning Edition and All Things Considered are straight news. It's not liberal or conservative. When the story is about politics, both sides are invited for an interview.

The rest of the shows, not so much. But WEPR doesn't carry all the talk programming.
 
Didn’t SCPR say they were on the cusp of upgrading their signals to HD back in the spring? Even before the CPB funding cuts, it sounded like it was a done deal that was paid for yet nothing has ever materialized. No FCC filings, and no HD on the four signals I’ve gotten (WEPR, WNSC, WLTR, WRJA). If anything, the RDS has been gone for months. WEPR especially should be in HD to carry both the news and music and news and talk feeds as it’s the only area of the state not served by the talk feed.

I think only Charleston got the HD upgrade. And yes, you are correct. The upstate is a big market now (probably bigger than our capital, Columbia,) and really needs the HD upgrade to carry both SCETV radio formats!

Charleston got the upgrade years ago on WSCI. I was under the assumption from the article all member stations were getting HD (even GPB manages to have HD on signals in the middle of nowhere!).

Latest ratings have both the Lake and the Planet up big, WYRD is sinking further downward, and WHZT dropped.

Doubtful, since each monthly survey number is a 3 month rolling average and the signal was for the most part fine across the core counties of the market. I think they’re just catching down to where other news/talk stations generally are, their ratings weren’t sustainable IMO.
 
This market has taken a dump, ever since Earth FM and Magic went Kaput im surprised there hasnt been much to come around and shake things up ... the translators are almost a non factor, and the LP/small town AM/FM translator stations are/could be the go too if you're lucky to be near one.

I like the Mix on WGYT Greer / WQUL Woodruff / WZZQ Gaffney and WRTH LP Kool FM ... and WKDK Newberry / and fringe WRBK/WUBK

Heck Even AI on Google had something to say about it 😂

That's definitely a record for The Block in the upstate. I'd be curious to see what's the highest rated translator only station country-wide that's on an FM-HD only.
I'm also glad to see WYRD-FM slipping a bit.

There must be something off. Why are we not seeing WEPR's numbers? Also, what are the call letters for the main HIS Radio in Greenville? I don't think I see them listed either (although they are non-commercial, I'm not sure they fall under the same rules to show their figures as "public" radio stations.)

WEPR and WLFJ (which is the main HIS Radio, 89.3), don’t show every month for some reason. I’m not sure if they just don’t subscribe to every period, but they’ve both (as well as WSHP 103.9) been missing before. Seems like they come and go.
 
WFBC-HD2's 3.2 matches its largest share to date, first reached in Jan-Mar 2021.

Several translator-fed HDs have scored above a 3 share and beyond - this month WERC-HD2/W286BK in Birmingham had a 3.8

Only non-commercial stations that are authorized users through the Radio Research Consortium are listed in the public numbers. WEPR apparently is not an RRC user and does not show, even though it is listed in subscriber-only data.

IIRC, public stations like WEPR, don't pay to see basic Nielsen numbers. They are posted free. It could be, since this is a diary market and not PPM, that they get released for public stations once per quarter. I'm not sure how HIS Radio and other religious, non-commercial stations fit into any category. My guess is that they'd need to pay, but I'm not sure

That is extremely impressive! Even more impressive for The Block, to me, is the spread out nature of the market where the signals don’t hit everywhere clearly. But they do cover the core cities of the market and areas where many listeners are concentrated.

AMRocks - I read on here a while back that EMF/K-Love now pays to subscribe, so we’ll see ratings for WKVG, WLTS, and WLTE monthly.
 
SCERN has been going down a bunch over the past few months. In Charleston 89.3 WSCI had only a 2.1 in August and they didn’t subscribe last book. They do even worse in Columbia. Think WLTR had a 1.3 in August.

Looks like The Block is holding its own at that 3 share - a STONE’S THROW behind The Planet, which had a big drop.

WYRD soars back in to 2nd place. The country stations continue to hold a lower combined share of the market than they used to overall.

WKVG seems to be establishing a presence.
 
Coming from Atlanta daytime on 98.9 impresses me and if im on 94.5 its HD2. I use to say that His Radio should have found a way to be on 94.5 because since the 80s I felt 94.5 was being wasted but now I actually enjoy 94.5
