Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton is heading home to San Diego's XX Sports

From the news page of www.radio-info.com:

Sports talk host Lee “Hacksaw” Hamilton is heading back to the city where he was one of the original sports talk show hosts. XEPRS-AM (XX Sports 1090) VP/Programing Jack Evans announced Hamilton will take over afternoon drive starting October 5. Hamilton, who had joined the Sirius XM “Mad Dog Sports” channel, is a household name in San Diego, working for XETRA-AM (690) from 1986-2005. “XX Sports 1090” will sandwich Hamilton between Darren Smith in mid-afternoons and “Coach” John Kentera at night.

Note: although Lee had agreed to join the "Mad Dog Radio" sports channel, he didn't appear on the channel except for a couple of "tryout" appearances. I believe Lee eventually wound up at XM's Major League Baseball channel.

This is great news! I'm not as surprised that he has been hired but that it took this long. Good luck Lee and please whatever you do don't hold back.

Replies to previous posts:

Bob: Hacksaw came out blazing on Monday. Tons of calls. Obvious people want "good sportstalk radio".
RBA: He was cornerstone of legendary XTRA-690 until Clear Channel destroyed the format.
J: Fans happy he is back. He took on CEO of Padres, Chargers coach head-on first day on XX-1090.
PJC: Hamilton is also doing NFL PBP, plus XM Baseball show, writing sports columns for SDNN.com.
