Legendary Boston D.J. Little Walter Returns to the Club Scene Sept. 22 & 23

Little Walter survived throat cancer! He was hospitalized and has beat the disease. This will be his first club date in at least a couple of years - at least since he got out of the hospital.

My story on Little Walter will be in the Medford Transcript a week from today - 9/21/06. I'll post a sneak preview here on the weekend, it's still in development.

There are a lot of great and supportive people on the radio-info.com board - it's time to
tip our caps to Little Walter and welcome his show back to the club scene.

This is the first I heard what actually happened to him. I hope this has finally made him give up the ciggies. He was chain-smoking when I worked with him twenty years ago. I hope he keeps on spinning, and has a long healthy life!

We spoke on the phone yesterday. I feel awful that Walter had to go through that. The chemo he said was just horrifying. But the guy kept working & mastering & syndicating his show - and he totally beat it! God bless him!

I'm working on the story tomorrow and over the weekend - will get a rough of it up here for everyone first.

I am seriously thinking of hitting that gig... I spend half time in Pelham these days so it's just a short ride down the street to the joint.

If anyone else is thinking of going post here, we can wear moose antlers or something so we can spot each other in the crowd.
