Word is Steve Craig is going with her.

It's tough to get noticed in the #1 market. Its been almost 5 hours since the Fram announcement hit this board and it has yet to get any attention on the New York board. NY ain't Atlanta; she better get use to not being threated like a diva.

Leslie is a total class act. We both worked for Bernie Dittman back in the day
and she deserves a great gig like this for both her people skills and her creative
talents. You go, Les!!

Another example of the ignorance routinely generated on this board. Let me educate you about her NOT being treated like a Diva in NYC...Leslie is becoming the PD at the only radio station that plays alternative/AAA in the largest market in the world. You get your record on in NY and you're on in every other city in the country.
She'll be wined and dined by every major label president, rock stars up the wazoo will kiss the ground she walks on, and will get front row seats to every concert, sporting event, Broadway show, awards show, and any other kind of event you can think of. Conglomerates like Live Nation, Sony, and BMG are all going to want to be in the Leslie Fram business. It was like that here at 99X and this is ATLANTA.

The perks and butt-kissing associated with the gig she's going into would make anybody's head turn.

With Halyburton running it and Leslie programming it, they will do well. If Steve goes as well, Axel won't be far behind. And they'd have a hell of a lineup for an alternative rocker.

/as to Z100, Shannon's floggging oldies now, so who cares?

Any room for Jimmy B?

Before Cumulus moved in, 99x was floundering. I don't argue she's a great person and a class act, but that doesn't correlate to a genius radio mind. 10 years ago she was awesome, the question is will she find that magic in NY with a a fresh start? I'm just not sure Leslie and possibly Steve Craig as someone else said, both of whom aren't getting younger, can reach a demo that they certainly lost in Atlanta. I hope she does, we'll see

I say ixnay on Axel to NYC. He has got to be smarter than that.

Great move for Leslie. Atlanta's loss is NY's gain. Although, it's disappointing a Leslie/ Jimmy reunion on Dave-FM is not going to happen.

Good for her. After all the cheap shots from some of the know-nothings who have posted on this board over the past couple of years, I for one am glad she gets to reinvent in the Big Apple.

Besides, all of the talk about she was there when it blew up the scene when it started, to when it got blown up because of bad ratings doesn't mention about how much control she had of the station. It was talked about numerous times how the people that built 99X (Leslie, Steve, Sean, etc) had total control and the suits, although cringing, still allowed them to have "creative control" and make the station superior to others. Then, it was talked about how much the control was taken away from the people in the trenches bit by bit as the station was at its peak.

Another thing: If she was PD when the station started in 1992 until its end, what was Chris Williams doing? Not knocking Chris or Leslie, I'm just saying she wasn't the only PD at 99X, but these articles state, or portray otherwise.

>Any room for Jimmy B?<

Actually, Jimmy's schtick would probably sell as well or better in New Yark than it did in Atlanta - and it wasn't bad in Atlanta. However, (And this applies to Axel as well) with small children, New York is a poisonously expensive place to live. You got to wonder if there would be a long enough contract offered to alllow either of them to relocate. The other players in this speculation (Steve, Leslie) don't have that worry. We will observe and be instructed.
