Apparently WSAI-1360 AM is offering less play-by-play sports. The station is not on the Miami University Sports Network for this football & basketball season. It has been further announced that the UC-Oklahoma football game next Saturday (September 6) will be heard on WOFX-92.5 FM. In recent seasons, UC (football and basketball) games were moved to 1360 when they conflicted with Reds game broadcasts on WLW. WSAI is also not listed as carrying Friday night high school football games as well. Does anyone know why the station isn't going to have local play-by-play sports even though they continue to provide a sports-talk format?

Less Play-By-Play Sports on WSAI-1360 AM

I think its cheaper for CC to run WSAI on the bird and also gives ESPN a good signal to for the cincy market. Where would ESPN go next if they get bounced off of WSAI
I do have to note that WSAI-1360 is carrying the Louisville-Kentucky football game today from the U of L Network as they have in recent seasons.
As Louisville is playing next Saturday and will probably be heard on that station and U.K. is also playing next Saturday and will probably be heard on WCKY-1530; that may be why UC will be on 92.5-FM that day instead of one of those AM outlets.

Not too many could today.The feed of the broadcast kept cutting out or WSAI kept going off the air. That was not a good way to start the Cardinals' coverage for the season in Cincinnati especially when you could tune in WCKY and get the University of Kentucky feed.
Speaking of college football, is Ohio State still going to be on 97.7? For one thing, the future of the station is uncertain, and OSU is popular enough that you'd think they could get on a big AM signal or a better FM one. I think WKRC would be a good place for them. How many people really listen to those home improvement shows anyways?

Major...Pete Arbogast did the Bengals games on 1160. Keels worked for Jacor atthe time and couldn't do them. Keels did Ohio State on 1160.

I always got a kick out of him when he participated in Sports or Consequences ... rolled with the jokes and actually was pretty funny when given the chance.
I do know for sure that he left Cincinnati in the summer of 1998 to take the Ohio State job. Buckeyes fans like me (and I'm sure many of you) have benefited big-time ever since.
