Lewis and Floorwax pick up KDZA in Pueblo/Co springs

Jet 107.9 KDZA Pueblo/Colorado Springs...flips to rock today with the moniker... KDZA Rocks The Rockies. Liners indicate that Lewis and Floorwax will cover the am shift. So far...no other jocks on today. They are running some commercials.

Top fo the hour 3pm Iron Maiden "Number of the Beast" ha ha ha

So...Bob Richards takes the best of Denver and combines them in the Springs...Active rock BPI format with the L and F from the Fox. I Guess they are looking to pull a couple points away from KILO and knock them off the top of the 12+ ladder.

Soo..what happens to Darrin and Coba / CK and te rest of the Jet staff?

Interesting . How will KILO react ? Some good old fashioned competition is what the CS market needs. Will CC go with 'Premium Choice' talent? Any local (out of work) CS jocks in the area? Anyone inside the KILO halls looking to bail ? Mainstream/Active Rock . More mainstream it seems although, I heard Tool, A-Chains,Offspring . At one time, these bands were once considered active rockers. Perhaps the active rock format has run its course. L&F have a history of great morning radio . At least CC did it right by beaming their show down I-25 . Lets see how it all shakes out after a few trends, books etc.

I think this is a bad move for KDZA as far as changing to active rock. I was LIVID when I turned on the radio while having my morning coffee and was listening to who? Lewis and Floorwax? ok. Well, I thought that Darren was on vacation or something and they plugged in some syndicated goofballs to cover the morning show. I changed the station then and as soon as I got in my car. On my way home from work I checked out 107.9 again and thought there was just a bunch of static from the storms. No - it wasn't static. I had to Google this when I got home and here I am. PLEASE - I hope they bring back the "oldies" along with Darren, CK, and the rest of the gang. I'm a product of 70's music and fell in love with this station when they first started playing it. Most "kids" that listen to active rock or whatever you want to call it will listen via CD or MP3 anyway. I know because my young adult kids listen to it. This is the most disappointing programming change I've ever experienced in my 50 years of listening to radio. I'll be picking up a satellite radio receiver soon.

Yeah, not my cup of tea either. This leaves the Springs with NO classic hits station with the exception of KOOL 105 coming in weak from Denver and two AM stations, 950 from Denver and 1350 from Pueblo, both full of static (from afternoon thunderstorms) and non-audible at night due to signal interference.

Bad move on KDZA.....so much for JET 107.9! I should have known something was up, since the Top 12 at 12 was eliminated last week for no apparent reason then.

WTF Happened? said:
There are officially no good radio stations in Colorado Springs anymore!
I will have to listen to my ipod from now on!

Try AM 1350 (KDZA), plays 50's thru the mid 70's. Also 105.1 (KOOL) in Denver is good, but a bit repetitive.

AM 1350 KDZA is now Fox Sports coverage. AM 950 from Denver still plays oldies (Cruisin' oldies)

Love it when stations do this...the latest ratings book came out today and in the 12+ category...KDZA bounced UP from a 2.9 to a 5.3 and now they are in 4th place. Of Course these ratings are BEFORE they blew it up and put the rock on there.

I spent a good amount of time with the station since the change...music is getting repetitious...LOTS of Metallica and Rage Against The Machine...I am assuming that the music is done from Corporate...but the person doing it needs to spend some time editing the logs.
