Liberal radio times two hits California's Central Coast

KRXA will be programmed with liberal talk without using AAR, making it the fourth (I think) such station to launch in recent months. Scheduled hosts include Ed Schultz, Thom Hartman, Stephanie Miller, and local talk host veteran Peter B Collins, who also appears to be a part owner.

KRXA = 10,000 watts Daytime at 540kHZ = Huge Signal

It's worth noting for KRXA that 10,000 watts that low on the dial (540kHz) makes it a *HUGE* signal. Of course the signal is directional with a lot of energy going over the ocean, just like AAR/KTLK/Los Angeles, but it's still a great signal for the central California coast AND inland. Powers down to only 500 watts at night, but even that is still a lot of power for that low on the dial.

Any DX-er's reading this...how far north and south on the Pacific Coast can you hear the station??? How far inland? The Bay Area? Does the signal conflict with San Francisco's conservative talker KSFO at 560kHz? How many people will the station reach, day and night, both in and out of the local market?

BTW, the other powerhouse on 540kHz if of course CKW 50kW from Regina, SK, Canada that goes everywhere on the Continent.

This Tom (versus others here) responds:

Ooops!!! No I'm not affiliated with the station...and I don't know Peter B...you were referring to the previous person's post that was re-posted w/ hatch marks when I posted the radio engineering data...I don't know the owners...Maybe hatch marks don't show up with Mozilla, perhaps there was no differentiation between the posts...this is not the first time this sort of thing has happened to me...

I certainly agree w/ you, doc9464, as always, that Jay Dimaond should be syndicated nationwide...
