we have Light Fm playing at work. And I notice that they are not only playing the new Barry Manilow single (from his upcoming pop-standards album) a lot,but are hosting a Light-FM only Barry Manilow concert.Have a big Barry Manilow picture in the front page of their websight.A few years ago I couldnt even imagine Light FM playing Barry Manilow again.Do you think Light FM is retuning to the 1980's style of Adult
Contemporary Pop?

I'm suprised that Light FM chose Manilow's rather dated sound
over Neil Diamond's much more upbeat and modern sounding new single
"Delirious Love". But it is nice to hear a great guilty pleasure like Barry Manilow though!

It's probably only temporary. clear channel might be presenting the Barry Manilow concert, and WLTW is the closest station they have that would play his music.

...WSNI Sunny 104.5 in Philadelphia is promoting Manilow's concert in New York City.

Just thought I'd mention that.

I couldn never understand why ac stations refuse to play Barry Manilow other than just too many damn "hip" pd's who cannot relate to the average folks.

BM consistantly sells out concerts in minutes, his A&E specials have been huge ratings winners. To YOU he may sound dated but the PEOPLES still love him. Radio needs to wake up.

Lead, follow or get out of the way...

And remember, the early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
