Linda Cassidy To Host KOIT "Love Songs..." Show

From the news page here on RadioInfo:

KOIT, San Francisco, Names Linda Cassidy Host of “Love Songs After Dark.” 96.5 KOIT named Linda Cassidy host of its “Love Songs After Dark,” effective Monday, August 27th. The program heard seven nights per week on the Emmis Communications outlet between 8:00 pm and 1:00 am features romantic hits from the 1980s to today, “specially-blended to help listeners relax and unwind.” “Linda’s a familiar voice to Bay Area listeners. She’ll create the perfect environment for ‘de-stressing’ after a busy day,” says Andy Holt, 96.5 KOIT program director. Cassidy tells RadioInfo, “I’m excited to be a part of the KOIT team and I look forward to playing the songs that bring back so many great memories for our listeners.” The soft rocker features artists like Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Journey, and the Eagles, plus today’s hottest “Lite Rock” artists including Maroon 5, Adele, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga. KOIT is also the Bay Area’s holiday music station.

My highlighting in the paragraph above; that should read "Entercom Communications".

Wait Linda Cassidy has been at KDFC recently. She Worked for KOIT Before. I think she had another stint at KDFC when it was on 102.1.

Wasn't Laurie Sanders the original host of Love Songs After Dark? With all the budget cuts in radio, kind of surprising when someone is hired to do nights. Everything seems to be automated at night on other stations.

A number of the KDFC hosts did fill-in and weekend work on KOIT when both stations were owned by Bonneville, and probably early in the Emmis era. I believe Cassidy was one of them.

It is interesting that Emmis is bucking the trend, and putting in a live host at night after years of going jock-less in that time slot. I think KOIT DJs are usually live, but perhaps she will voice-track.

KDFC is in the same building with Entercom's cluster including KOIT. Linda Cassidy still does weekends on KDFC, is it possible she is voice-tracking nights on KOIT while in the building working for KDFC?

When did Emmis buy KOIT from entercom?

I meant "Entercom" - sorry. For some reason, I have "E" dyslexia. I work in the East Bay and still get Emeryville, El Cerrito, and El Sobrante mixed up.

pjc1961 did add a disclaimer at the bottom of the post:

Yes she was. before that she hosted "Lovesongs on the Coast" at LA's KOST. She followed Liz Kiley and was succeeded by current host Karen Sharp. After KOST and before KOIT she also spent time at KYSR.

But wait the male VO who currently does ID's and promos for KOIT since 2011 was also contracted to do the promos and ID'd for KDFC during the 102.1 era.
